Gervinho Banned For Two Matches In The Ongoing AFCON 2015

Gervinho banned Jan2015

Ivory Coast attacker Gervinho, is set to miss his country’s last two group matches at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, after he was handed a two-game ban.
The Roma forward was sent off for hitting Guinea’s Naby Keita just 13 minutes after the break, as they drew 1-1 in their first group match.
Gervinho will now miss the matches against Cameroon and Mali and will only feature in the competition again, if the Elephants make it to the quarter-finals.
The 27-year-old took to his Twitter account to apologised, saying: “I would like to apologise to the Ivorian nation, to my team-mates, to the supporters and to the organisers of the CAN for this angry gesture which is totally out of character and evidently has no place on a football pitch.”
