President Goodluck Jonathan’s mouth piece, Doyin Okupe has listed out a few of the achievements of the incumbent president.
While speaking as a guest on a current affairs programme on Silverbird Television some moments ago, Doyin slammed the media for not being supportive and being fair to the People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan.
According him, the media is trying to downplay the ‘works of Goodluck Jonathan’ such as:
1. There is now a 50% reduction in maternal mortality rate in Nigeria.
2. This government has built 38 dams. I did a programme called four impactful years. They were shown on television. We are not deceiving people.
3. If I tell you we have 24 airport in Nigeria, are they not verifiable? I can tell you all the airports have been remodeled. Fact. Go to anywhere. Wherever you want to go. They have been remodeled.
4. If I tell you that the Benin-ore road used to be a death trap. People used to spend 24 hours on the road, today day spend three hours.
5. If I tell you the Lagos-Ibadan express road was built in 1976 or something like that and from that time or more than 30 years nobody did anything.
"If people deliberately refuse to see and the media find a way to underplay the achievements, we will keep trying, we will keep trying. Our God will justify us. We don’t have the media behind us but we have God behind us” he prayed.

ReplyDeleteDoyin, I'm awfully disappointed with the points stated. Is Federal government responsible for the reduction in maternal rate or the WHO which did a great job in assisting some our state governors like the Ondo Abiye program, in Oyo it was named Abiyamo etc. Building dams? Lol. 24 airports that are not standard. Even some state Governors had performed great job on road constructions than GEJ. I guess his final achievement will be the depreciation of naira value to the dollar from 151 to 210. PDP = Progress Destroyers Party. #GMBFEBUHARI14

ReplyDeleteI am sure the presidio diplomatically asked Dr. okupe to cool off during the campaign period since he cannot make any comment without being controversial. My advice to him is to steer clear of troubles or he will be grounded again. As they say, a word is enough.........

ReplyDeleteThe most unfortunate aspect of this GEJ campaign looks to me to be the fact that even his men cannot seem to clearly articulate his achievements. While what he did not do is very glaring to all - just mention only two - Boko Haram (chibok) and corruption and you immediately want someone else to have a try. It's a pity.

ReplyDeleteThat is under achievement Mr Doyin. Six year in office, five achievement! Not up to one achievement per year. Lagos state and some other responsible Governor did more than that. Pls tell us another story

2. He should please state the DAMS.
3. At International airport in Lagos, nothing is working. Also comparing the money spent with the facilities is nothing. It was a means to embezzle money shown clearly by minister issues.
4. It is a completed project from the predecessor
5. That is federal govt responsibility to maintain all federal roads
For me, its only hypocrite that can boast of this above mentioned achievements.
I lived abroad as Planning Engineer and l know how much projects executed in 2 yrs by govt
