Enugu Division of the Nigerian Police Force on thursday night arrested four young men suspected to be working for the All Progressive Congress, APC, while destroying billboards and other advertising outdoor signs of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The four suspects were arrested by men of the New Haven Divisional Police station who were on patrol.

They are being detained in the police station at the time of filling this report.

DAILY POST gathered that the APC guber candidate in the State, Barr. Okey Ezea, stormed the police station to free the suspects.

According to a police source, his efforts, however, met a brick wall when the Divisional Police Officer refused all his entreaties, insisting that the matter must be properly investigated.

The source alleged that Ezea, on seeing that the DPO was not ready to let the suspected thugs go, resorted to verbal threats.

The police source quoted him as saying, “I will deal you ruthless because it seems you don’t known whom you are dealing with. If you release these boys now, I will revisit this when we take government of this country.”

Parts of the vandised billboards recovered from the suspects, including the torn flexy materials, iron bars, props were seen at the police station.

According to a reliable Police, the suspects will soon be charged to court.

Both Ugwuanyi and Ezea were yet to make official reaction to the matter as at the time of filling this report.
