PDP governor will complete Amosun’s road construction projects - Daniel

A former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Tuesday said the Peoples Democratic Party has reunited and would win the governorship election in 2015, to complete the road construction work being executed currently by the Senator Ibikunle Amosun administration.

He said this at the reunification rally tagged ‘OGD returns’ held at the PDP secretariat, Abeokuta.

Daniel said the party lost the 2011 governorship election due to the internal wrangling, which led to the formation of the Peoples Party of Nigeria.

He said, “After we lost the 2011 governorship election, people appealed to us to settle our differences and re-unite. We thank God today we have reconcile our differences.

“The current government in the state is not a good government. We thank God for the level of work done by the current administration.

“But I want to emphasise that PDP will win the governorship election in 2015 which will enable us to complete the road construction being done by the current administration. We will not only complete them, we will do their inauguration.”

At the reunification, which attracted other PDP leaders such as Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye, Chief Sule onabiyi, former Speaker House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, chairman, Mobilisation and Organisation committee, PDP South-West, Buruji Kashamu among others, Daniel explained that the current administration had sold lies to the public about the debt profile of the state in 2011.

While he explained that contrary to the allegation that his government left N48bn debt, he added that he had only left N3.7bn debt in 2011.

He said, “There was an important term report that showed N13bn debt in 2007. But, in May 29 ,2011 it was N3.7bn.”

Daniel said he has just found out that the Amosun-led administration has borrowed over N200bn within three years.

  1. Shame on you Daniel! At least you acknowledge the great works being done by the current administration, so unusual of you politicians. But the question is, in the entire 8years you spent as governor of Ogun state, what did you do? So you are indirectly telling that PDP is coming back to give us another empty 4years.
    Never Again!
    Daniel Ole!
    PDP Ole!

  3. Thieves who want to steal, consolidate and celebrate another man's four years hard labour. Over our dead body in Ogun State! He wants to return thugery and robbery to our dearly peaceful Ogun State.

You too should judge peaceful existence of Amosun Administration with your ritualists Administration.
    Thieves and Assasins!

If he had borrowed N200B and pay back N160B, are we saying he is not doing well? At least we can see with our eyes.

You too should judge peaceful co-existence of Amosun Administration with your ritualists Administration.

  5. There is already a debt profile of over N200billion borrowed by this regime. Who will pay it back and how? We also need good progress in Ogun State. The present Governor has dictatorial tendencies and never listens. He also has misplaced priorities. I live in OGUN state.

  6. @anonymous democrat: Have you ever seen or heard of any government, anywhere in the world, that do not borrow? By the way, the N200b debt is according to the lies being peddled around by your thieving OGD, so nobody will ever believe that. You may be living in Ogun state but many of us were born and bred there, so we know much more than just a live-in person. The truth must be told, we need a strong leader in all sector of governments in Nigeria, not one who is a ready and willing partner in stealing the commonwealth of the state. By the way, as long as he is performing and is accountable, let him be heady/dictatorial or whatever, he will server another 4years by God's grace.

  8. Daniel is a shameless adult. People like him should be stoned to death. He wasted 8 years in the life of Ogun state. God will not allow people like you at the helms of affairs of even any ward in Nigeria. It is a pity that people like daniel still have mouth to talk. Dani olora(you should understand the Yoruba interpretation of your name) What you can not initiate, you want to take the glory. God will not make it possible. Dani olora, please keep shut before you have more curses from the Good people of Ogun state whose lives you battered for 8 years.
