Vote for me, see wonders, Fayose tells Ekiti workers

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said there are better days ahead for workers, if he becomes the governor of the state.

Fayose said this on Thursday, while saluting Ekiti workers in commemoration of the Workers’ Day, during his campaign visit to Ado Local Government Area.

In a stamen by his media aide, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, the former governor alleged that said the Fayemi administration “chastised the workers with scorpion and placed heavy yoke on their necks.” He said his government would remove the yoke, heal all your bruises and put smile on workers’ faces.

Fayose recalled that the PDP governments under Mr. Segun Oni and himself conducted local government elections but the governments of the Alliance for Democracy and the Action Congress of Nigeria, which are now the All Progressives Congress, under Mr. Niyi Adebayo and Fayemi failed to do so.

He said, “Nothing good but suffering can come from the APC government because they are full of deceit. If you workers should return Fayemi, the teachers should expect mass sacking through political tests or delay of salary due to zero allocation or huge debt hanging on our neck (which was allegedly) incurred by the Fayemi administration.

“When I was the governor, I was paying workers’ salary on the 22nd of every month and Ekiti State was in the 7th and 8th positions in the NECO/SSCE and WAEC results in Nigeria, respectively.

“I am a Higher National Diploma holder but my brother, Fayemi, who is a PhD holder and with a professor as deputy, has returned the state to 34th position.

“I want you Ekiti workers to vote for me in order to transform all the sectors of the state. I am your friend, your governor, who left the office to chat with you at the roadside, at the restaurant, at palm wine joints and the market.

“I created the position of tutor-general in order to raise the teachers’ status but Fayemi scrapped it and returned the teachers to pre-Fayose era.

“I want to appeal to you to go and collect your voter’s cards and don’t release it to those who have been going about buying cards from unsuspecting people with money.”
