A Kaduna-based Islamic scholar, Dr. Ahmed Mahmud-Gumi, has warned forces from the United States of America, United Kingdom, France and China that offered to assist Nigeria to rescue the female students of Government Girls' Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State against turning the country into Afghanistan and other Middle-Eastern countries.
Gumi warned that the allied forces who went must not go beyond their briefs by killing innocent Nigerians during their operations in the north-eastern part of the country.
The cleric, who gave the warnings in Kaduna on Saturday, said doing so may trigger off waves of terrorism that had never been witnessed in the country before.
He added that the 'special war' needs 'special approach.'
He said, "This is a special war that needs special approach. Don't let the foreigners fire and kill any Nigerian. This may trigger waves of terrorism never seen before – May God spare us from it.
" Iraq, Syria, Somali and Afghanistan are examples. Foreign terrorists are eager to engage foreign forces making Nigeria just another battle ground.
"Just get reputable northern military commanders especially from the north-eastern region, to spearhead the operations which should start with the release of all their detainees.
Gumi also took a swipe at the Nigerian Army for not acting swiftly even when they reportedly had an advance notice that Boko Haram planned to attack the Chibok school on April 14.
He said, "With the latest pronouncement from Amnesty International, it is now no more a secret that the Nigerian Army, more especially, is not engaging the enemy. It is no news for us that have been keen observers of the development and progress of this evil situation, the northern states are passing through since the inception of this government."

This is a senseless and foolish talk. Who are the reputable northern military commanders especially from the north-eastern region, that will spearhead the operations? What equipment do they have and where have they been all this while?

Just imagine how some clerics talk. They should release which prisoners? When they were and are killing the christianns what did u say? We still remember your ties with Abdulmutallab what u are planning in the north and this country will not succeed. The govt should squeez these clerics. Gumi said if any nigerian is killed many terrorist organisations will emerge as has not been see. Sir no one is a coward we the christian northerners now know better. No life is superior than the other. We are watching. The same thing happened in CAR and ppl were plaing politics and look at what is happening now. Nobody has the monoply of violence. All of u the clerics that are deceiving your followers to go die and be rewarded with 70 virgins what are u (clerics) waiting for? Don't like the seventy virgins? You don't like allah's reward?

Why do you guys send your children to the best schools and yet preach another gospel to your followers? You guys have played this game for a long time and we kw better now if our parents kept quiet we will not, if they allowed themselves to be slaughtered like rams our generation will not. If u are violent others are too.

Let Gumi suggest the way out. If possible, he should lead the front to engage the sect Boko Haram
ReplyDeletePlease reason with him, dont just oppose him for argument sake. I harbor the same fears and I am a southerner. What he said is simple. Help rescue the girls and capture these boko haramist if possible. If you are observant, you will know that truly things go sour when foreign forces enter another country. This is why everyone must be observant from now on.

ReplyDeleteYou people's approach to cleric stand is just been myopic about the issue at hand. i snot true that in the name of attacking terrorist, western allied forces has turned several countries in to battle ground after all they have nothing to loose and also do forget that they (US) have also predicted that they country will break up in the 2015 never mind the fact that they denied it. Is the fact. Try discuss issue as they are and put things in proper perspective as the cleric did. May God save us.

ReplyDeleteSimple; Gumi is afraid that officers from other parts of Nigeria that are not sympathetic to BH will capture the terrorists alive rather than kill them. He's obviously scared that he will soon be confessed as a sponsor. Don't worry sir, the days of you and your likes are numbered in this country. You all will be exposed soon.
