Fire guts Kaduna dep gov’s bedroom

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga, on Thursday escaped death following fire in his bedroom at his official residence along Tafawa Balewa Way in the metropolis.

At the time of filing this report, spokesman to the deputy governor, James Swam, said faulty electrical fittings from one of the air conditioners in the bedroom led to the fire.

Swam said there was no loss of life but insisted that his principal’s bedroom was badly damaged by the fire.

He said, “A minor fire incident occurred yesterday at the official residence of His Excellency, the deputy governor of Kaduna State, Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga.

“The incident, which occurred around 8:00pm, started in the master bedroom through suspected electrical fault but was promptly put out by the combined efforts of firefighters and the security men.

“His Excellency was not in the bedroom when the fire occurred and glory be to God, there was no casualty though the room was badly affected.”
