Malam Muhammad Nafi’u, the Chief Imam of Nupe Road Juma’at Mosque, Kaduna, has urged Muslims to offer special prayers for the release of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls in Borno.
He made the call in an interview after the Friday prayer in Kaduna.
More than 200 girls were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from their hostel at Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno 32 days ago.
The chief imam also urged parents not to be discouraged from enrolling their children in schools because of what he described as a “devilish act”.
He said “in Islam, it is obligatory on parents to educate their children.
“Parents and guardians must give both western and Islamic education to their children and wards for their lives here on earth and hereafter.’’
The cleric said the activities of Boko Haram were against the teachings of Islam, adding that “Islam is a religion of peace, which does not accept violence.’’
Nafi’u, who appealed to the Boko Haram members to release the girls unconditionally, urged Nigerians to assist security operatives by giving useful information on the whereabouts of the girls to secure their safe release.
He attributed the prevailing intolerance by most Nigerians to ignorance and the lack of proper knowledge of religious injunctions.

ReplyDeleteMr Chief Imam if really islam is a religion of peace as you claim, why was that Sudanese woman sentenced to death by hanging for changing her faith? Why not allow people to follow their conscience instead of forcing your religion on them? Why does your quran teach violence and hatred instead of Love & peaceful coexistence? Those of you saying that islam is a religion of peace are just saying it to please some people but the truth is that islam has never been a religion of peace. It started with violence right from your so called prophet to his sahibs down to people like Usman dan Fodiyo and until today it follows the same trend. If you want to know peace, give your life to CHRIST who Himself is LOVE and He gave His life for you.
ReplyDeleteThe Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

9:5 "... fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) ..."
9:14 "Fight them, and God will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame ..."
9:29 "Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and his apostle nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth (even if they are) of the people of the Book, until they pay the Jizya [religious tax] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."
47:4 "Therefore, when ye meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks, at length when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them) ... but if it had been God's will, he could certainly have exacted retribution from them (himself), but (he lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the way of God, he will never let their deeds be lost."
