Why Buhari, Amaechi, Atiku & Others Are To Blame For Insurgency - PDP

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has maintained that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are responsible for insurgency in the country.

In a statement issued by its national publicity secretary Olisa Metuh, yesterday, the party accused General Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former FCT Minister Nasir el-Rufai and Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi of making inflammatory utterances against the President Jonathan which has sparked off hatred and attracted insurgents, resulting in the rise of terrorism in the nation.

According to the statement, it is not coincidence that after Buhari called on his supporters to go on lynching spree if he lost 2011 presidential election, an unprecedented violence broke out claiming the lives of many innocent Nigerians.

The party also cited Atiku's statement on the 14th of December 2010, when he said, "those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable."

Also collaborating Atiku’s statement, one of his close associates, Alhaji Lawal Kaita while rejecting the emergence of a President from the South, had in October 2010 said, "the North is determined, if it happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power. Even if he uses incumbency power to get his nomination on the platform of the PDP, he would be frustrated out."

Pointing accusing fingers on Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the statement said El-Rufai had on the 23rd of January 2014 said the next elections would be bloody and many people are likely to die, adding that the only alternative left to get power is to take it by force.

Indicting Gover Amaechi of Rivers State, the PDP said, “We were not surprised when Governor, Rotimi Amaechi now a leader in the APC, in inciting his followers recently said, ‘I came to Bori to prove to you that you don’t need to run away from violence. If a man is chasing you with AK-47, you should carry achine gun and the man will call for peace.’"

The PDP had earlier released a statement accusing the APC for the Abuja Bomb blast on Monday which killed hundreds of people and injured about 200.

  2. Clueless fellas, so if someone threatening to kill your family and he carried out the threat, what will you do? So you will be making excuses that he has said and there's nothing you can do?
Let me reminds you (metuh) we didn't voted for Jonathan because he has a poor background, we voted (massively) because wr needs a break from all those "old wagon" (unknowingly to us that he is their driver) and we need someone that can take a drastic action not minding whose "face dey bleed", so metuh, what do we get? An incompetent leader surrounded by a self centre cabinet members.
If at all they makes an inflammatory statement (how about asari, Gbomo jomo etc) did you has any evidence against them? And if there is, what are you waiting for? Arrest and prosecute them (even execute them) after all that was why we voted for you.
A good leader knows how to manage "every" situations accordingly ( not blowing it out of proportion or making excuses)
So metuh should tell us what qualify his principal to warrant our vote for another four year

  4. The PDP and Jonathan administration will continue to run round the ring without striking a blow. Why are they not accusing OBJ for his utterances? We wait on the end of the confab, surely Nigeria must break up

  7. Fine. You all have spoken well. It is very easy to call GEJ govt. clueless but the big question is this 'DO YOU YOURSELF HAVE ANY IDEA OR CLUE THAT CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM?' the answer is 'NO', and if you have any; please, direct it to the govt. so as to move the country forward. APC is composed of desperate politicians who specialize in fault finding. These politicians have been in power one time or the other and the same problem of power, unemployment, security etc. that GEJ govt. is facing were in existence. Since they could not solve these problems then what magic can they perform now? My brothers and sisters let us leave these desperate politicians to play their politics and support the GEJ govt. in any little way we can. There is quite a lot we can do to better the security situation in the country. We can give any necessary information to the agency concerned and so on.

  10. Olisah Metuh, with all these you had mentioned, what has the president and his loyalist like you and the rest done to arrest, investigate and possibly prosecute them if they are guilty as alleged. Your administration is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Nigerians on daily basis. Violent has now enveloped the whole nation, fulanis herdmen killing at will, kidnappers operating with the collaboration of the so called GEJ men just like the case of Chief Edwin Clark's Son afterall his kinsmen exposed them and how much money was shared even though our police was so quick to have said no ransom was paid and this shows that lots of people are involved. Mr Metuh stop blaming anyone for your party's inconsistency, lack of political will to fight everything wrong with this nation frm corruption to insecurity. What this government is so concern about is to get power by all means and improverish nigerians the more by calling for an increase in the fuel pump prices.

  13. My people this country is shamble both PDP and APC are all Power crazy seeking their selfish intention at the expense of common nigerians blood. All this killing, kidnapings and bombing are the architects of both parties. If measures are not taking there will be division because everyone is getting wiser day by day. Toni Anineh, Obansanja, IBB, Tinubu, Buari, Atiku and even the current president are all the same heartless leaders with selfish motives. If this country dont change and stop using the seat of authority to accumulate wealth for their families and themselves they will so push thia nation to the wall and everybody will loose it and their will be war and division. Why is the president covering up past and present corruption? They are afriad to call names and prosecute those that perpetrates these evils because they are also corrupt. We need prayers... this nation is gradually inviting fire because I dont trust both APC and PDP they can all do anything to get what they want.

  14. the truth about nigerian situation is that the masses are nt capable of reporting crime commiters.obviously in all advance countries, civilians are more efficient than any militry force.Government and the militry cannot be every where at the same time, its the duty of u and i to report any crime commiter around u before the Government. But we are nt doing it in Nigeria,i must say that without going this way insecurity and corruption will continue.
