APC demands release of abducted schoolgirls

The All Progressives Congress on Monday appealed to the abductors of schoolgirls in Borno State to immediately release the captives without pre-conditions, in the spirit of the Easter season.

APC’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said this during the dedication of the N150m Catholic Church building, in his hometown of Oro, in Kwara State.

He said whatever grievances the abductors may have, they have nothing to do with innocent schoolgirls.

It therefore urged the kidnappers to free the girls still in their custody and cease from all acts of violence against innocent citizens.

Mohammed said “Violence has never resolved any issue. Dialogue is always the preferred and civilised way to go in resolving any conflict, no matter how difficult. We are therefore calling on those who have been perpetrating unbridled violence to stop their despicable acts and renounce violence.”
