Gunmen kill 2, injure 4 in fresh Plateau attack

Two persons have been reported killed by cattle rustlers at Nwore village in Langtang North local government area of Plateau state. Killed were Kahfa Timbong and Tanden Nandang.



The invaders, suspected to be Fulani, a resident-Nanpon Miri- said yesterday. The cattle were grazing when the gunmen struck, he said. “When the news got to villagers, some of the villagers mobilized and gave the cow thieves hot chase to recover the stolen cows. In the process, the criminals gunned down two of the villagers. Four others were wounded,” he added.


However, they abandoned their loot-about 100 cows- and fled into the bush. One of the victims, Kahfa Timbong,was a final year student at the Federal College of Education, Pankshin, Plateau state. The gunmen also shot dead one Yakubu Changtim at Yokdara village while fleeing . The state police command said it was yet to be briefed on the incident by the Langtang division of the police.
