Presidency threatens APC with treason charges

The Presidency on Sunday asked the All Progressive Congress and others who it said are bent on plunging the nation into political instability with their public statements to be ready for the consequences of treasonable action.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, made the Presidency’s position known while reacting to the call by the APC on the National Assembly to commence impeachment process against President Goodluck Jonathan.

Abati, in the statement, dismissed the APC’s call for the President’s impeachment as opportunistic, partisan and ill-motivated.

He urged Nigerians to make the necessary distinction between what he called such reckless violations of civic duty and the urgent need to protect the integrity of the nation against those who for selfish reasons have declared their readiness to stop at nothing.

  1. Abati! Nobody is blaming you as you are unflinchingly up to the tasks of what you are paid to do. However, history is will always remember you for your roles in present democratic dispensation.

    1. Ruben is now a bread and butter journalist. May God help him to rediscover himself. I wonder how the call for the impeachment of a president who is under performing in a democratic setting constitute treason.

Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter— On the side of their oppressors there is power, But they have no comforter.
It is an abomination for kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness.
I have not come to preach to anyone because am not a preacher and am not even aspiring to become one.
Despite all the prayers and the preachings that is going on at our churches every Sundays and weekly days, atrocities have become our Bishops, General overseas and imam's at our worship centers and that brought me to ask the same question as did by Sunny Okosie in 1986 when he released his hit Album (Which way Nigeria? ) when one speak about the evil that our leaders are commuting on daily basis if the ethnic fools did not counter ur critics the church people who are cowards and blind will tell you to go and pray for our leaders and I ask again, how can we be praying for our wicked leaders with an empty stomach when they are exercising their wickedness in abundance? if u are in their shoes will ever think of change knowing that that will bring an end to the opportunities that u have? .
Insanity they say, is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results, how can we continue to pray for these guys haven seen what they are doing which is wasting our resources, no accountability and when they come out at network news they acknowledge that their is corruption in the system with so many corrupt officials, ask them Who are those corrupt people? they don't know, maybe because i dont have any of my family members in government or politics that's why am saying all this as some people may view it but the if I be a child of God, I should be able to stand for what is right irrespective of the one who is commuting the crime.
Its time and we have grown wiser and we have found out that it is the same people who are helping us to track down the corrupt people are corruption themselves and we can't hide our shame and be praying for God to help us, its just a waste of time and energy, we need to forget who we are and what we are doing and match out for a revolution now its the time enough is enough.
