Obasanjo meets APC leaders: Says, APC can make Nigeria great again..

APC has taken the right step- Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken the first step in the right direction towards making Nigeria great again.

Obasajo stated this on Saturday when he met with leaders and governors of the APC on Saturday evening at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The meeting is said to be in continuation of their consultations on political developments in the country. The APC leaders including of the Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, its National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, Senator Bukola Saraki, Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed, Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso(Kano) and Mutala Nyako (Adamawa) drove into Obasanjo’s mansion on Segun Osoba Hill – Top by 5:50pm in convoy.

General Mohammadu Buhari, three – time presidential contestant, arrived Obasanjo home, the venue of what was described as a “high – powered meeting of an equally high powered coalition of progressive forces,” by 5:56pm on Saturday.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) who drove himself with Mallam Nasir El – Rufai on the passenger seat, arrived by 5:59pm and followed closely by Governors Abiola Ajimobi(Oyo) and Babatunde Fashola(Lagos).

Few minutes earlier around 5:23pm, a convoy of three jeeps including the one marked Lagos JJJ 956BQ and carrying Chief Femi Fani – Kayode and former Anti – graft Czar, Mr Nuhu NRibadu arrived the venue.

Others attending the meeting are APC Interim Spokesperson, Alh. Lai Mohammed, former Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ogun(2011), Mr Tunde Oladunjoye, former Governor of Borno State, Alimodu Sheriff and Bob Effiong.

The Progressive governors and the APC leaders who arrived Abeokuta by noon earlier met with the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, at the Government House, Isale – Egbein, Abeokuta where they deliberated for hours before proceeding to Obasanjo’s home.

    1. Interesting in the sense that looters have hijacked another party giving the masses no hope?

    2. It does seem like the looters may have moved into the party, but if truly the APC has its own Values and Ideals which seems to have been working where they hold power, then the entrance of these guys into the party would not be a problem. One thing that's pertinent is that the founders of the party based it on a set of goals and objective which would (or rather should be the guiding principle of any (or every) member whether old or new. So interesting it will still bem

  18. Who is fooling who? Old sour wine in a brand new bottle. It just shows Buhari and Obasanjo are only interested in power! How do we explain the merger of these same corrupt politicians? If Ibori had not been in Holloway Prison at this time, he would have been in this photoshoot!

  19. Nigerians should wake up! These are the same people that have deterred our progress in the last 40 years. May God help us and open our eyes. Buhari and Obasanjo? Rochas Okorocha and Nuhu Ribadu? Rotimi Amaechi and El Rufai? Even Obasanjo and Atiku?? It just shows these people are just interested in personal aggrandizement and have no principles or ideology.

  20. Nuhu Ribadu arriving at the venue in Femi Fani Kayode's car? Arrangee Government in the making. I am looking for a new party to vote for. What are decent Nigerians doing, allowing these same old people to hijack the Nation. We should organise ourselves and wrest power from these people by actively participating in politics, and I dont mean just going out to vote for who ever is served to us!!! We should join politics to contest.

  25. Be ye not deceived brothers. I live in UK but I weep daily for my country. These so called APC shouting about corruption have done absolutely nothing to eradicate it and are still not offering a way forward. Corruption is an institution in my beloved country and all these guys including Jonathan, are neck deep in it. I call on everyone to only listen to them when they talk about how to get rid of this corruption and create jobs for millions of unemployed Nigerians who are willing and able to walk. My question is simple. What have they got to offer?

    ReplyDelete
  26. For APC to be consider. Credible they should be mindful of PDP decampee that they admit.the party should consist of people with un queastionable character.

    ReplyDelete
  27. This goes to show Nigerians that are to wake up to the reality that Nigeria politicians are more or less one and the same irrespective of the party in which they are. And Nigerians are also culpable to this present comedy! When people who are genuine and live by what they say decided to help, we Nigerian refuse to support them. Gani Fawehinmi floated a party in Nigerians & we failed to vote for his party! Not even at a local government level! So why are we all crying wolf now? We are all crying for a change but we don't want to pay the price! My opinion: we are not ready for changes yet. May be because we seems to have alternatives. When we are ready for the change we wiil Make the change

  30. You said pdp is not good and apc now is even worst who is going to do it.it is high time we believe that we are all bad.we are talking of the politicians, what about the civil servants that hv ruin Nigeria. Let us go to the private sectors , their workers have ruin them.they said charity begins from home.it is better we say the truth and change from our evil way.what we need now is love among us , we need to love and respect ourselves. I pray we will change from our evil way.

  31. if we think APC is better dan PDP den we still believing dat dis parties have something to offer.lets look at d key people in APC den we will realise dat corruption has come to stay. D only way dat things will change in dis country is if we get rid of dis old corrupt politicians n encourage younger n fresher brains. Am waiting to see APC's candidate for president, if am not satisfied with their choice den i will still vote for Jonathan. We need prayers and action in Nigeria n untill we act d country will continue going round in circles. If we like d country we see now den lets fold our arms if not imagine how it will b in d next generations. As for Obj i wish him a peaceful death cos after all he has done he is still doing.

  32. U Guys are just deceiving urself... Why can't we "Youth think twice and deeply", the same set of people that have been governing for over 40years are now back together for Real, what do you now think will come out of this..? Same Old story, Nigeria Youths are fools.. No one want to face d reality.. We are afraid of Revolution, then Old ones refused to leave Power for we younger ones.. We are doomed..War is Looming.. Iyabo Obasanjo have said it all instead for we Youth to take the case Up and back Iyabo so as to better Niaja, we started saying Rubbish and even causing Iyabo for Opening our eyes to Reality" just wait... We never see anything.....Yeye people like us
