Adeboye charges Nigerians on obedience to God

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has charged Nigerians to always obey God and His word in their daily activities.

Adeboye made this charge at the just-concluded 16th Holy Ghost Congress of RCCG held at the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The programme, tagged ‘The Overflow,’ pooled together millions of Christian faithful from about 150 countries.

The event featured prayers, Bible teaching, business seminar, family talks, prophetic ministration, thanksgiving service and anointing service.

During the week-long event, traffic that often characterised the Lagos-Ibadan expressway was significantly reduced, with the church personnel complementing efforts of men of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) and other government agencies.

Speaking on the final day of the Congress, Adeboye charged Nigerians to always exhibit godly virtues, adding that there is nothing God cannot do to change the fortune of the country if only the people can turn to God in true repentance.

He added: “For us to enjoy the abundant overflowing blessing of God, we have a price to pay as God’s blessing is not cheap. They are for the people that will remain faithful and obedience to His word.”

Adeboye also used the occasion to debunk the rumour of his alleged ill health, which has been a subject of discourse in the social media in recent times, describing it as “untrue and unfounded.”

“I have learnt that some people are impersonating me by asking for public support to take care of my ill health and support for an orphanage home in the social media. It is a lie; it is not true, please ignore those messages. I am healthy and strong and would remain strong until Christ comes,” he said.

He also warned Christians to be wary of false prophets who claimed in CDs currently in circulation to have died, gone to heaven and came back to narrate their extra-terrestrial experience.

Adeboye informed the congregation Tthat these are the last days where certain people would come up with different things to deceive the Church of God.

He urged the congregation not to waste their money and time on such CDs, adding, “We should rest on the word of God to tell us what we need to know about heaven and how to get there. We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free.”

In his sermon, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Felix Omobude, challenged the congregation to remain strong in faith and never to be defeated by the varying challenges facing the nation.

He said, “We must not be deterred or lose hope in the midst of the storms blowing across the nation as God’s people can never be defeated. We can never be defeated because Jesus Christ has never lost any battle.”

It was testimonies galore during the Congress, as worshipers who came in from different parts of Africa testified to the goodness of God.
