REVEALED: Crashed aircraft was 23 years old, and other details



The chief operating officer of Associated Aviation , Alhaji Taiwo Raji confirmed yesterday that the ill- fated aircraft was 23 years of age, even as he said the last maintenance on the aircraft was carried out on June 14, 2013.

The airline official said the ill- fated aircraft flew on August 30.


He said the airline has ten aircraft six of which are serviceable .

The explained :” Flight 361 departed Lagos en route Akure when it crashed.

Of the 20 passengers that were on board, 13 have been confirmed dead, while there are seven survivors. Of the seven survivors , five of them are at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital . One of them is at the Nigeria Air Force Hospital , while the other survivor is at the Federal Medical Centre at Ebute Meta..”

He said the airline has already informed some family members.

He added that the airline has a valid insurance cover for the aircraft with SEMA Insurance company , which is covered by Nigeria- Re- Insurance.
