N100m spent on Obadare’s burial –Son

About N100 million was spent on the final burial of the late founder of the World Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM), Apostle Timothy Obadare.

The eldest son of the late cleric, Pastor Paul Obadare, said the amount contained the N35 million released for the burial by the Osun State Government. The body of the late Obadare was buried last Saturday in Ilesa, Osun State.

Giving the breakdown of how the money was spent, Pastor Paul told journalists at the WOSEM Shiloh ground, Ileki, Ilesa, that N5million was spent on casket, N61 million on the construction of the mausoleum, while N30 million was spent on entertainments.

He, however, appreciated the Osun State Government for the N35 million given to the family. Pastor Obadare said that the money given by the state government was part of the overall amount spent. He prayed to God to protect and bless those who in any way or the other contributed to the success of the burial.

On likely successor of the late cleric as the General Overseer, Pastor Obadare said: “Only God can answer that because it requires spiritual exercise, but very soon, the new overseer of the church would be announced as leaders are working round the clock to do this.”

He pointed out that the church would soon hold its special executive board meeting where deliberations on the appointment of a new General Overseer for the church would be discussed.

He said: “We have leaders in the church already, but there is need to appoint a new General Overseer who will preside over the church.”

  2. Na wahoooo. N100m. For burial. waste of personal fund. and when public office holder squander our resources what moral justification will these ones have to tell them that they are wasting our funds? if you build low cost housing unit with it we the the help it will render to even the poor in the church. Christains should be examplary to the world at large. 1Tim 3:2,11 and Titus 2;2 talks of christains being temperate/moderate in habit. is N100m moderate or show of affluence? this is nothing short of the pride of life 1John 2:16
