Jonathan Has Failed —Mrs Fawehinmi

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has failed Nigeria and should be defeated in 2015, and his wife, Patience, has made things even worse for him and Nigeria, said Ganiyat Fawehinmi, wife of the late Gani Fawehinmi.

Mrs. Fawehinmi said extreme poverty in the land, expanding insecurity, increasing corruption and looting of public funds call for a change in leadership in the next election.

She called on Nigerians to be vigilant as they choose those who will lead them from 2015.

She said Patience Jonathan has failed to play the role of the mother of the nation and her rift with Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has cast her in bad light.

“When you are fighting your own governor, how can you take care of the other governors?” she asked, adding that Patience Jonathan should have a rethink and iron out her grouse with Amaechi amicably.

Mrs. Fawehinmi, whose husband passed on four years ago, said she misses Gani and her house has become like a ghost town. She said activists and politicians who used to visit when her husband was alive have all disappeared.

She disclosed that her husband’s Will Administrators have not been living up to the task.

She said the master bedroom in her husband’s house has remained locked and the keys are yet to be given to her.

Mrs. Fawehinmi in an exclusive interview to be published in TheNews Magazine said activism in Nigeria has almost died and activists are no longer speaking truth to power.

  1. Mrs Gani should just remain silent instead of being pushed to cast aspersions on Jonathan and his wife
I don't know why all these Yoruba people are joining the likes of El Rufai to be abusing Goodluck
During Obj tenure I don't think any southern tribe abused him the way they are doing to Jonathan now
At this rate mrs Gani may do worse than Patience if given the opportunity Dame has because no woman has cone out to openly criticise Dame on the Anaechi saga

  2. Point of correction! The YORUBAs did more than this to OBJ. Yoruba speaks out the truths, leave it of ,,take it!

  3. @ Anonymous, no wonder your name is anonymous. Can't you use your head or don't you see the level of hardship and abject poverty in this country couple with the shameless act of President Wife?

Jonathan must go otherwise we keep suffering in this country. We can't allow stooge to keep leading us; some one that don't understand where he is, where is going to, and how to get there can’t lead.

The issue of ethnic politics can't help us; whoever is fit should go there. GEJ is unfit and unable to lead us. He should please get out of that office a beg u.

    1. Demola or whatever you call yourself!... I've been been following your comments lately in NE....as a matter of fact, based on the pedigree in your comments you wouldn't for any reason whatsoever chip in any mater of public interest as all your comments are absolutely biased and bedevilled with tribal sentiments and jingoistic colouration. If not for the benefit of freedom of speech entertained in a democratic setting, you should not be allowed to comment in any fora whatsoever as you don't even exhibit any iota of understanding in matters being discussed. Can you just concentrate in your personal trivial issues...I believe that will do you more good.

  4. Anonymous 7:57, you are tribalistic. Mrs Gani shouldn't shut up. Why should she? In your assesment, is GEJ doing well? Has he been able to tackle corruption the way he has made us to believe? What about poverty, Since his administration, what has he put in place to create employment or alleviate people suffering? In terms of free and fair election ow far with him? (Don't forget 16 > 19 NGF, 5 > 27, Rivers state House of Assembly)

  5. @anonymous 7:57, maybe I should remind you how comedians mostly from the south south used ti joke about obj looking like a monkey or gorilla. I laugh nowadays wen I read niger deltans saying respect the office of the president. Yeah right! it's ok to respect now because a niger deltan is there abi?
See if you guys want a niger deltan to be the president in 2015 we have no problems with that, just bring out a more capable person. GEJ is simply incompetent to rule or lead naija.
