Briton kidnapped in Lagos

The British High Commission confirmed the kidnap.



A British national was this week kidnapped in Lagos, the British High Commission, BHM, said on Friday.
The victim was abducted shortly after arriving at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.

“The BHM is working closely with others to secure the release of the hostage. Because of the nature of this incident, the BHM is not going into further detail about it,” the commission said in a statement quoted by Reuters.

Kidnapping has been on the rise in several states in Nigeria despite several arrests and prosecution of many suspected kidnappers by the police.
