High Life Legend, Fatai Rolling Dollar is dead

Pa Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju, popularly known as Fatai Rolling Dollar has passed on. He died this morning at Marritol Hospital, Surulere after a brief illness. He was 85 years old


One of his wives, Funmulayo Olagunju, confirmed his death.

Before his demise, the octogenarian was hospitalised following a strange illness which hit him when he went to perform a couple of shows in the United States.

Confirming his death in a telephone chat with our correspondent on Wednesday morning, the music star’s wife, who had been with him in the hospital said Rolling Dollars was moved from Ahmadiyya Hospital where he had been receiving treatment to an undisclosed hospital in Surulere where he gave up the ghost.


Funmi told NigerianEYE that the family has not decided on where he would be buried though internment has been fixed for 4pm on Wednesday.

Pa Fatai Rolling dollar gained popularity with the famous ‘Won Kere Si Number Wa’ song.
