2015: Dokubo vows to fight opposition, bullet for bullet

Asari Dokubo

Founder of Niger Delta People Volunteer Front, NPDVF, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has said that he was ready, bullet for bullet, for those who want to stop President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general elections.

He spoke in Warri, Delta State, weekend, just as the founder of Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Dr. Frederick Fasehun, said  nobody can stop President Jonathan from contesting for a second term in 2015,  assuring that the South-West geo-political zone would support him.

Both  spoke at a memorial public event in Warri,  for the late Ijaw hero, Major Isaac Adaka-Boro.

Dokubo-Asari said: “We have to demand for what belongs to us. 2015 is not about Jonathan, but about our destiny. If you allow them, they will crush us when they come. I am ready for them, bullet for bullet.”

He said the battle line for self- determination had been drawn, as the people of the region would no longer accept being second-class to the people of the North.

“The battle line is drawn, if our representatives in Abuja are trading off our destinies, we will not accept it. The enemies are at the doorstep waiting to pounce. Having Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, ministerial and ambassadorial positions are not enough, we want to control our resources.

“When the enemies come with their gun to shoot us down, I will also hold a gun to fight back. The day will come, they will come for us, there is no sitting on the fence. When they come, they won’t differentiate between Urhobo, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Isoko, Anioma, Edo, and other ethnic nations.”

Fasehun,  OPC leader decried the call for Dokubo-Asari’s arrest, over his comments on Jonathan’s re-election, saying those calling for his arrest were misguided.

He said: “Since the constitution guarantees Goodluck Jonathan two terms, which Jupiter can deny him the privilege?  Those who condemn Dokubo for his statement, where were they when some highly placed individuals swore to make Nigeria ungovernable should Jonathan win the presidential election in 2011?”

  5. Was Asari involved in the 2million man march?. If some people had vowed never to make this country ungovernable, I think power must never be allowed in the hands of their relatives.

  9. First, GEJ should caution this guy who we know is benefitting immensely from his government, because of the amnesty thing. Secondly, Asari who happens to be a Muslim from the South like some of us should learn to be a true Muslim, not the radical ones who do the wrong things in the name of Islam. No one can impose anyone on Nigerians, let Jonathan contest, if he loses or wins, so be it and not for any criminal to start threatening the millions of Nigerians because of his selfish aims. The question is - what has GEJ even done for his "people" as President? I hear Clarke, Alams etc. talking tough on GEJ must continue, isn't it time we as Nigerians start looking for a person that can deliver, instead of the ethnic thoughts of "our son must be there"? When shall we outgrow this stupid, crazy tribal ideologies? Going by the greed of these callers for GEJ to remain in power, if their ethnic group is carved out as a country, they will still be fighting each others for superiority, this time it will be family against family. Lastly, the NigerianEye and the general Press should stop giving attention to these fools trying to seek public attention and Asari should know that he has just one life and shall perish like a chicken some day.

  10. It is suprising if we say this government belongs to thugs and area boys as numerous avenues are opened to them to chop as ealrier said by Obasanjo "chop chop govt" If election is by vote and majority, one wonders why GEJ should fold arms at the Villa and allow his insignificant proportion of his regional people threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria that he must return come 2015. If GEJ was voted only by NIger Dleta people he would nt have become president. If power is gotten by violence his people are nt matched to the rest of the country. A word is enough for the wise.

  11. Late Abacha( Former Head of State )stoled $700m and hide in switzerland and the son is sponsoring Boko Haran/Criminals in the North from the looted money. Now I ask what has a Northerner to offer Nigerians in this present day of lamplight -Stealing, Killing and Criminality. All of U insulting Dokubo shut up ur monrth, if this oil were to be in the North u would have killed all christians to claim it alone. Asari is right at all times defending what belongs to him -thieves.

  12. If Asari says he will fight is not suprising, b/c that is what he knows best how to d. So if govt employs him to be paying him tax payers money in the name of amnesty/pipeline protection, he has to pay back in return. But one thing he should remeber is that politics is a game of number and not violence.
