Police detains Gov Lamido’s son over fatal accident

The police in Kano has detained Mr Aminu Sule, the eldest  son of Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido for allegedly crushing to death a middle aged man along BUK road by Rumfa College, Kano.

Eye witness account confided in Vanguard that the incident occurred at about 8.55pm adding that the victim died on the spot.

Aminu Sule who is been prosecuted by the EFCC for alleged money laundering is been detained alongside his SUV sport car at Kwali police station in Kano.

The source further explained that “for the timely intervention of the police on patrol, Aminu would have been killed by the mob.

Confirming the incident, Kano Police Public Relations Officer, PPRC, ASP Magaji Musa Majia stated that the driver of the accident vehicle has been identified as Aminu Sule.

Majia stated that the police has equally identified the relation of the victim, stating that the body was taken to a government hospital for doctor’s confirmation.

  1. It is vry unfortunate incident, may the soul of the dead rest in peace. I, sometime wonder the way most elith terorise pedestrian & other motorize on the high way. The Nigerian Police is involve in this act of terror. Recently, I had an experience that made me wonder whether there is law in this country. As a convey of the commision of police kogi state were smashing traillers, cars breaking side mirror, scaring drivers to losing control. What kind of country is this. As I speak this governor‘s son will go free. Where is justice?

    Yes, some Nigerian Motorists are reckless as they over-speed in areas where they should move with caution. However, some motorcyclists are also very, very reckless; I have come across motorcyclists without brake-lights driving in the dark,Imagine that !!! The motorist might as a result of the absence of brake-lights in the dark,fail to notice the motorcyclist until its too late.

    Our roads are also very poorly lit and it contributes to such avoidable mishaps.
