PICTURE OF THE DAY: Man converts an Okada into a Four-wheeled drive

A Funny picture i came across online, since Fashola's government stopped commercial Motor-bikes (Okadas) from operating on major high-ways in Lagos, this man (names not known) converts an Okada into a Four-wheeled drive!

Nigerians are pretty creative...

  4. In times past, an average Nigerian would not be caught dead on a motorcycle. Today, it is a source of livelihood for millions. It is not actually an engineering feat for the inventor of this contraption. It is the degree of suffering in Nigeria. Take out time and investigate, you will find that many of our compatriots have a hard time surviving daily.

  8. @ anonymous, why should Fashola leave them? It is obvious that you don't really know the problem being created by okada. As at yesterday at vulcanizer on akowonjo, Egbeda; an okada rider carry two people ran into an upcoming vehicle thereby causing an accident resulting in the death of one of the passenger. So, stop accusing fashola of brutalising okada. Afterall, we r all feeling the brunt !!!

  16. This is very funny...whoever is reporting this said he/she came across this online. where online? for all i can see, it could be Liberia! Doesn't look like Lagos since the ban is on the highways etc, the man is not on the kind of roads banned. I'm not saying the pix is an outright lie but why cast doubts in the minds of readers? poor reporting.

  18. Its not feasible. How is he going to turn at a corner? Where r the protective measures he setn place so this doesn't become another okada story? Creativity is not just creating a design but doing something thst would fly. Nevertheless, I love this spirit. Only whatnhe has done makes no sense. Invent something new n workable.

  19. Yes,the man is wise.He has bypassed the law....There's no fight btwin him & Fashola govt.
    Life must go on!

  20. This is just a pointer that the new law has a good and a bad side. Someone say okadas cause accidents as if cars dont have accidents. Any way, the popularity of okada made them to be many and competions made them to be hasty and hastiness always results in accidents. With okadas banned, cars will take up the spaces once accupied by okadas and that will results to accidents. Perhaps Fashola considers accidents in cars less dengerous than accidents on bikes. If that is the case, his line of thought is a good one. But what if the majority cants afford a car as is a case in not only lagos but all cities in Nigeria? I guess something has to be done and must be decisive.
