Policeman kills bus driver for hitting patrol van


A middle aged man was on Thursday allegedly shot dead by a policeman in Iperu, Remo North local government area of Ogun State, South West Nigeria while two others sustained bullet wounds.




Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred when the deceased, a commercial driver allegedly brushed a police patrol van along the Sagamu/Benin express way.

Confirming the incident to Channels TV, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi expressed the displeasure of the command over the incident, saying that investigations into the killing would commence immediately while the culprit would be made to face the full wrath of the law if found guilty.

Eyewitnesses said after the killing, the residents in the area engaged the police officers in a fight leading to the burning of the police patrol vehicle.

Mr Adejobi however said that the situation has been brought under control as the state commissioner of police, Ikemefuna Okoye sympathized with the family of the deceased when he visited the scene of the crime.

  2. Tell this story to Ngozi Braide. Certainly, she will have new lies to concoct as in the case of the Lagos State ambulance driver her colleagues murdered for using the BRT lane and yet blatantly denied culpability. For her, PR means LIES. Our police force is yet to upgrade from the Hausa Constabulary stage they were in colonial times: brutal, unlettered, yes men and women, trigger-happy, untamed, irrational, rapacious, and predatory Frankensteins.
