The police in Lagos on Saturday arrested one Asiribo Baba, 40, for allegedly shooting a bricklayer who attempted to rape his daughter.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Police Inspector Femi Martins said Baba allegedly shot Ifeanyi Arinze, 29, who was moulding blocks at a building site in Agbara, Lagos.
He said investigations showed that Arinze climbed the fence of Baba’s residence in Agbara to pluck oranges in the compound when he saw Baba’s 14-year-old daughter, who was sleeping outside.
“After he plucked the oranges, he went to the girl, sleeping on a mat, and touched her breast but the girl screamed.
“Arinze covered the girl’s mouth with his hand but her younger sister, who was playing outside, came and called people,’’ he said.
The inspector added that Baba, who heard the screaming of her daughter, came out with a gun, ran after Arinze and shot him in the leg as he was about to jump over the fence.
He said other workers at the building site reported the case immediately to the police while Arinze was taken to the hospital.
That really serves him right. The police should arrest him when he is discharged from the hospital. Baba you are a father indeed

ReplyDeleteGreat man! Well done 'Asiribo Baba'. Police only arrested you for interrogation. First of all, Arinze climbing the fence of Baba’s residence means a lot. He might be there steal other things than ordinary Orange.

The good people of should rally round the brave man.
To me the man tried. I might have done more... like shattering the two legs -to teach him a perpetual lesson. Afterall the rogue wanted to destroy the life of his little angel.

ReplyDeleteYou mean the Asiribo Baba had the time and composure to aim at the escaping rapist's legs after being enraged by an attempted rape on his daughter? Even trained policemen can hardly do that these days. It's either he got the legs by coincidence or the story is not being told fully. Infact if some of us had that marksmanship and are confronted with that situation, one would aim at the chess or skull. Asiribo you did well. You should be prepared to part with a few bugs to the police and extricate yourself from them. It's a worthy sacrifice for your beloved daughter, if the story is true.

ReplyDeletecan you build a house, fence it round and somebody will have the enfontry to climb it enter pick fruit and still go ahead to attempt to rape your own daughter and put an indelible mark on her, you are lying i know you rather aim at the persons head , jumping fence is a crime itself, not to talk of attempt rape , in Europe or America if such a thing is done you be shot and it will be termed under self defense.
the boy is a their , a rouge and a robber and should be charged to court for attempt stealing , unlawful entering and attempt rape.

How are we sure the young man actually try to rape the girl? is it not giving a dog a bad name to hang him from my perspective the young actually came to steal the orange to satisfy his hunger and got shot. some people can be over protective, what is he donig with with gun?
