Police declare Former Kwara Governor, Bukola Saraki wanted

Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force has declared former governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, wanted over a N21 billion bank loan fraud at the defunct Intercontinental Bank of Nigeria. The police order was issued shortly after Justice Gladys Olotu, presiding at the Federal High Court 4 in Abuja, denied the former governor (now a serving senator), a plea to restrain the police from interrogating or arresting him.

Also wanted by the SFU is his wife, Toyin, over alleged N4 billion loan fraud.

She allegedly collected the loan from Access Bank through her firm, DALTRADE.

The SFU has a warrant for Saraki arrest from a High Court in Lagos because the alleged offence of N21 billion loan fraud against him was committed in Lagos. Commissioner of police Tunde Ogunshakin of the SFU confirmed the story.

Meanwhile, Saraki, last nite, said he was ready to appear before the police to answer the allegations against Saraki’s lawyer, Lawal Rabana, SAN, said that since the police were hell bent in declaring Saraki wanted, he would, on his own, appear before them.

According to him, Saraki had gone to court hoping that the police would respect the court having submitted to the jurisdiction.

”Now that the police have made it clear that they do not have respect for the judiciary, Dr. Saraki will appear before the court,” he said.

Rabana said that Saraki was not on the run and had no cause to run as a distinguished person.

He however did not specify the day Saraki will appear before the police.

  1. That is it! There is none of these so-called "Honourable", "Distinguished", "your Excellency" that is clean!! They all have very dirty records we Nigerians know even that our judiciary will always try to scuttle their prosecution. There is no argument on these guys being guilty or not, they are! But see them finding their ways back to representative offices. From 2-time governor of a State that his family has turned to its estate and now in the senate as a senator. Nigerians again will not be surprised if his senator colleagues start telling us how 'clean' their colleague is. Shame on all these politicians and like I always say, if groups like the Boko Haram should direct their efforts towards these politicians, Nigerians will support them.

  2. That is the person described as the law maker. Tell me how you expect Nigerians to be respected outside the soil of this country.
People don't hear good things about Nigerians.

Where is that judge that says he shouldn’t be tried besides, I was told that clean conscience fears no accusations? What are we talking about Dr. Pitter odili, Orji uzor kalu and others?

Bokoharam should stop killing innocent people and be targeting the evil people of this country.

People like some ex-governors and other government officials suppose to spend the rest of their lives in jail.
I guess the insult received from Ibori trial is waking us up gradually in this this country.
