Teacher Flogs 11 year old Pupil to death


A teacher, Ahmad Tunde, has been arraigned before a senior magistrate sitting in Katsina for allegedly causing the death of an 11-year-old school girl, Bilkisu Sani.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused who is student of Federal College of Education (FCE) on teaching practice at Isa Kaita Quranic Model Primary School, allegedly flogged the deceased and some of her classmates who were making noise in the classroom.

The victim, Bilkisu Sani, reportedly fell ill the next day and was rushed to Federal Medical Centre, Katsina, where she was admitted and later died while receiving treatment.
Prosecuting police officer, Sergent Usman Okolo, told the court that the accused was arraigned for culpable homicide contrary to section of the penal code law.
The presiding senior magistrate, Muhammad Lawal Usman, who said the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till April 9, pending the receipt of legal advice from the ministry of justice.

  1. A thorough investigation may be needed to exploy to what extent the teacher had been inflicting punishment on the innocent student. May be she was going through medication before the punishment! The court should look into her physical disposition before her punishment. This is a warning to teachers who engage in undue punishment to students. I have the belief that the court will look into the case in good faith and allow the normal cause of justice to prevail.

  2. all these ones na gramma. if your asked what the proximate cause of the innocent child's sickness was, what will you say? afterall, the child was hail and hearty before he or she was flogged.
