Some residents had earlier claimed that the Kano home of the inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar was attacked by the group killing some six guards at the entrance.
The shoot-out forced the student population of Rumfa college to vacate the school.
However the police commissioner in the state told newsmen that the IG home was "not attacked", he said his team is on the scene assessing the current attacks after which the police command will make a public statement.
