A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Friday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the acting
National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Baraje.
The Presiding judge, Justice Charles Archibong said Mr Baraje should be brought before him to face
contempt proceedings in respect of the crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of the party.
The judge also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the National Vice chairman of the PDP in the
Southwest, Tajudeen Oladipo; the National Legal Adviser, Olusola Oke and the National Organizing
Secretary, Uche Secondus.
On Tuesday, the court had summoned the PDP leaders to appear before it today (Friday) to face
contempt charges, but they were not present in court as ordered when the case was called up.
The contempt proceedings emanated from a suit filed by the Dayo Soremi an executive of the PDP in
Ogun State, challenging the composition of an ad-hoc committee to oversee the affairs of the party in the
state.
The suit was filed on their behalf by one Ajibola Oluyede.
Rather than appear in court however, the PDP chieftains filed a motion seeking stay of proceedings of
the court summons and another order seeking stay of trial on the contempt proceedings

I'm sure that Chief Jugde knows that the order will be . . . before issuing it. It is only Ringim that could carry out such an order. Order against Ag. Chiarman of the ruling party and other PDP bigwigs? I dey laugh oh!
