The General Manager, National Theatre, Lagos, Malam Kabir Yusuf, has said that Coca Cola had yet to contact his office on whether they would need the space for the erection of the metallic ``tree'' said to be the tallest in Africa.
``In fact, I have sent them an invoice for the year and we are still expecting them to come for a meeting with us.
``I don't know why they did not erect the Christmas tree, but you can find out from Coca Cola,"
But Mr Clement Ugorji, the Public Affairs and Communication Manager for Nigerian Bottling Company Plc, said the firm was negotiating a contract to continue to use the National Theatre ``to scale up the Christmas tree concept''.
"The concept has been on for four years and we decided to re-evaluate the strategy with the view to scaling it up to achieve the maximum impact and excitement.
"We do not have any problem with the National Theatre; the concept is being reworked," he said, adding that the company had concluded plans to come out with a better and more exciting concept in 2012.
Assessing the four years of erecting the tree, he said: "for the fact that many people are asking questions and looking forward to the event means that it had been successful.
"It has connected people and has become an annual tourist attraction. So the dream for conceptualising it has recorded a great success.''
