The Peoples Democratic Party chairmanship candidate for Ikoyi/Obalande Local Council Development Area in October 22 Lagos councils’ poll, Mr. Babajide Obanikoro, will file his petition on Monday (today).
A statement on Sunday by the Campaign Manager, Babajide Obanikoro Campaign Organisation, Mr. Gbolahan Obanikoro, said with the opening of the tribunal registry, the party’s candidate would challenge the result of the poll.
The statement said, "The long and anticipated tribunal registry finally opened 20 days after election on Friday, November 11, 2011. However, upon the arrival of our lawyers, the registrar closed, saying the building was scheduled for fumigation."
It also said contrary to their expectations that the panel would sit at the Lagos High Court, Onikan, their case was moved to the Ikeja High Court.
