The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the company handling the Lagos light rail project, on Sunday assured the state government of completing the project on time.
Mr Shing Hongbing, the company's Deputy Managing Director, gave the assurance while conducting Gov. Babatunde Fashola round the site.
He said that tremendous progress had been achieved on the first phase of the project.
Hongbing said 90 per cent of the rail's structural work had been completed, adding that the remaining structural fittings would be finished in a matter of weeks.
He said that most of the pillars for the bridge which would hold the rails had been laid from Mile 2 to Iganmu.
The Managing Director said the laying of the shack across the pillars would soon commence.
``CCECC is conscious of the benefits of this project to the people of the state.
``We will ensure quality delivery by the 2012 designated completion date.``
