Presidency set to redeploy permanent secretaries

There are indications that there will be posting and re-posting of federal permanent secretaries before the end of August 2011.

Already, there are vacancies created in some ministries and qualified directors have been interviewed while the creation of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology also provided a vacant position to be filled soon.

NEXT gathered that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and his Aviation counterpart have retired.
Sources at the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation informed that there is going to be massive redeployment and that “a list has been forwarded to Mr President for his assent and if there is not much politics by Friday next (this) week the list should be published.”
The last redeployment was done in January 2011, following a letter dated December 31, 2010 during which 13 permanent secretaries were redeployed.
Some of the permanent secretaries likely to be redeployed include that of Science and Technology, Dere Awosika; Ecological Fund Office, Ibukun Odusote; Career Management Office, Tunji Olaopa; Esther Gonda and Fatima Bamidele of Agriculture Ministry.
New appointees
Meanwhile, two female and one male directors have been appointed Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Tope Ajakaiye, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja said that “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Olisaeloke Emordi, Folasade Anjoni and Anastasia Daniel-Nwaobia as Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.”
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Oladapo Afolabi, who announced the approval, also disclosed that the appointment of Mr Emordi and Mrs Anjoni is with effect from 24th August, 2011 while that of Mrs Daniel-Nwaobia is from 22nd December, 2011.
