A police source told Vanguard that the suspect claimed that his wife stabbed him several times and also stabbed herself which led to her death during a scuffle in their apartment in other to make him suffer. The source added that Arowolo consented that his two years marriage to the late wife was plagued with severe conflicts.
According to the source, “the suspect has been cooperating with the police since interrogation into the matter started. He denied ever killing her. But he rather claimed that she stabbed him and also stabbed herself during a fight at their No. 8, Akinshinde Street, Isolo area of Lagos State before she gave up the ghost.
“The suspect admitted that they had a fight on that Friday, which has been a regular occurrence in their home and he claimed that she inflicted those bodily harms on herself in a bid to get him into trouble. But preliminary investigations carried out so far, revealed that the suspect sustained some burns during the scuffle, but we are yet to fully unravel what truly transpired that day”, the source added.
