Oyo State Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala and his Ogun State counterpart, Otunba Gbenga Daniel,  were absent at yesterday ’s gathering of former, serving and governors-elect under the aegis of Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF. The event, which held at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, Abuja, was attended by President Goodluck Jonathan who also delivered a speech.

Although it could not be ascertained if Gov. Alao-Akala was not invited to the event or he merely turned his back on his colleagues, a reliable source at the Agodi Governor’s Office, Ibadan, said while the Abuja talks were on, the governor was on his way to the Oke-Ogun area of the state to commission a project.
Also, Gov. Daniel spent the day at the Oke-Mosan Governor’s Office in Abeokuta
Others who were absent at yesterday’s event are governors Danjuma Goje of Gombe State and Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, was said to be abroad sourcing foreign participants for some of his projects but his predecessor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was there. He sat beside former Edo State governor, Mr. Lucky Igbinedion.
Two main issues discussed yesterday, according to sources, were how in-coming administrations will easily pick their staff and that of the Peer Review Mechanism for the governors.
