The PDP in a statement by its acting state Chairman, Otunba Ojo Williams, accused Aregbesola’s administration of spending the resources of the state on frivolities.
But the ACN Director of Research and Strategy,Mr. Sunday Akere, said the party would not want to be distracted with PDP frivolous and unsubstantiated allegations, saying that the people of the state would soon know which of the two governments was people oriented.
Akere stated that Akande administration left about N800 million in the coffers of the state government for payment of projects which Oyinlola admnistration allegedly spent in repainting the already newly completed Governor’s office.
The ACN leader also said that the past administration of PDP in the state allegedly awarded contracts running into several billions of naira which were never executed till date.
Otunba Williams specifically in a statement by the party’s Director Of Publicity, Prince Adeolu Adeyemo, alleged that N500 million was said to have been expended by the administration to renovate the state governor’s office, Governor’s lodge and that of the deputy governor.
The PDP chieftain alleged that Aregbesola’s indulgence in wasting public funds on mere cosmetics programmes like erection of bill boards for propaganda, decoration of street lights with different colours and warned him to desist from those undevelopmental projects in the interest of the progress of the state.
Otunba Williams who warned him to shun frivolities and face the business of transforming the state, pointed out that for the past four weeks, medical doctors in the state have been on strike while the present administration in the state closes its eyes on their plight.
The acting chairman of the party, however, advised Aregbesola to make his impact felt on the people of the state positively before the time is up for his administration.
