Ven. Paul Nwozuzu of St. Johns Anglican Church, Diocese of
Owerri has admonished Nigerian leaders to endeavour to keep their campaign
promises to the electorate.
He said this on Monday in his Easter message made available
to newsmen in Owerri.
“Nigerian leaders should keep to the words of their promises
because this will save the society from the present decadence and corruption,”
he said.
Nwozuzu attributed the present rot in the society to high
rate of corruption among politicians.
“This has led to abandoned projects all over the country.
“It is sad that road projects awarded years ago are still
not done and motorists have to drive on bad roads in spite of huge amounts of
money paid out to contractors as mobilisation fees,” he said.
“This gives the impression that politicians can always do
things and get away without any repercussion,” he said.
