Defeat of APC in Oyo now inevitable - PDP candidate, Seyi Makinde

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, says defeat awaits the ruling All Progressive Congress in Oyo State in Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly polls.

He said the defeat of the APC had become inevitable, seeing that a coalition of political parties in the state had teamed up with the PDP against the APC.

Makinde thanked the leadership of the other opposition political parties, which adopted himself as consensus candidate to face the governorship candidate of the APC in Oyo State.

While congratulating the people of Oyo State on his adoption by other parties, Makinde said the pact he entered into with the other parties had become the nemesis of the APC in Oyo State, adding that the PDP would coast home to victory in Saturday’s polls.

A statement from his campaign office, signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, quoted Makinde to have said these in reaction to his adoption by other opposition parties.

He lauded what he described as the political maturity and broad-mindedness of the leaders of the other opposition parties, including former governor Rashidi Ladoja, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Sarafadeen Ali, and Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN).

“The milestone achievement has now paved the way for the PDP to coast home to victory with the support of other patriotic leaders. The APC will be overwhelmed and drowned in their attempt to rig the election through violence and votes manipulation. If the APC wishes, it can arrange a camp bed in Ibadan for their Lagos leader; our people will banish them out of our territory. The APC should look for another business centre; Oyo State is out of your stranglehold and out of bounds,” Makinde, according to the statement, said.
