President Muhammadu Buhari
addressed the nation on Thursday, appealing to citizens to turn out en masse for
Saturday’s elections.
Reeling out the achievements of
his government, the president asked the people to make a wise choice during the
election.
The broadcast has been received
mixed feelings. While his supporters hailed him, critics accused the president
of using resources of the state for free campaign.
Here are some reactions of Nigerians on
Twitter:
It is understandable that we all want to live comfortable lives. It is also important to realize that the most comfortable thing we can all do is to work hard and live within our means. pic.twitter.com/sFXHMdDmsM— Muhammadu Buhari (@MBuhari) February 14, 2019

In 2011, Buhari sensed defeat & urged his followers to destroy & kill anyone who tried to stop them. Couple of days ago in Zamfara he suggested his followers to get ready for war. Every time Buhari senses defeat his best resolve is violence. It’s his pattern, he’s known for that.— 👇🏼 (@Gwariboy) February 14, 2019
Lol. We begged you. For almost 4 years. To address the nation. We were being killed, harassed. One disaster after the other. We begged for empathy. Then maybe just sympathy. But you wouldn't even do that much. And now, you are ready to talk to us. To beg for votes. https://t.co/4himI8PA5s— Omolola (@lolaloveandart) February 14, 2019
Think about it, Buhari didn't speak to you until few days to Election.— J.A OLAOYE (@JA_Olaoye) February 14, 2019
SARS Killing Nigerians he never said anything, Soldiers killed in North East, all he did was sent you a memo through Lie Mohammed. You have few hours to choose now. Think it twice! After Saturday??

Lagosians the economic powerhouse of the country suffered the most from Buhari's shambolic policies, you would need 1 million MC Oluomo's to stop us from voting Buhari out.

Buhari should know by now that those who are going to vote against him has made up their mind long ago, no amount of broadcast can change it— Iyke🇳🇬 (@omakaiyke) February 14, 2019
For 4 years, Buhari shielded himself from Nigerians. He even refused to address our press. There was a time we had Presidential Media Chats. All gone down the drain. But in 3 months, Buhari has toured the whole country and addressed the country thrice. Are we fools? #RejectBuhari— #RestInPeaceAPC (@AjayiOlawande) February 14, 2019
The Buhari government claims it's fighting corruption but we all know they steal from us to enrich their families. This government is out to impoverish Nigerians. #RejectBuhari #RejectPoverty— May Ubeku (@Maybeks) February 14, 2019
Listening to Buhari should be categorized as an extreme sport 🤦🏾♂️ #RejectBuhari— FLAWLESS !!! (@Usman_muzik) February 14, 2019
