Davido debunks allegations on O2 Arena concert

Music sensation, Davido, held his first headliner concert at the 02 Arena in London, UK and completely sold out the 20,000-capacity arena, making him one of the very few Nigerian artistes to do so.

The ‘If’ crooner had previously announced before the concert that all the tickets for his concert had sold out, but not without raised eyebrows on whether it was true or not.

A story published by ‘The Guardian UK’ mentioned that the concert was ‘almost’ sold out, contrary to what Davido himself had mentioned, while others on social media said they spotted some empty parts of the arena during the concert.

But Davido went to his Twitter account to clear all questions about it. He shared a screenshot of an email sent to the managers of the O2 Arena, asking for confirmation of whether the concert was indeed sold out, to which they responded, “Yes, it was.”

He also added a cheeky caption to the aforementioned screenshot he posted saying, “Madison Square Garden Next,” hinting plans to also hold a concert in the New York arena.

It’s a known fact that Davido, alongside the likes of Wizkid and Tiwa Savage have made a mark in the global music scene. Just last year, Davido clinched the Black Entertainment Television (BET) award for Best International Act.
