Trouble for senate president, Bukola Saraki as APC candidate leads with over 20,000 votes


Ibrahim Oloriegbe, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara central senatorial district, is leading Senate President Bukola Saraki with over 20,000 votes in two of four local government areas in the district.

To retain his seat in the upper legislative chamber, Saraki needs to win by a landslide in the remaining two local government areas.

So far, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of Ilorin east and Asa local government areas.

In Ilorin east, Oloriegbe secured 30,014 votes ahead of Saraki who had 14,654 votes while in Asa, the APC candidate polled 15,932 votes ahead of the senate president’s 11,252 votes.


In all, APC has 45,946 votes, with PDP trailing 25,906, leaving a margin of 20,040.
