Gov. Emmanuel reveals what political fathers can do which spiritual fathers won’t

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel has pointed out that whereas political godfathers can disappoint, same cannot be said of spiritual father.

The governor stated this at a service seeking God’s blessings at the Qua Iboe Church in Ikot Ekpene yesterday, according to Sahara Reporters.

He stated that spiritual fathers always radiated the presence of God.

A tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Akwa Ibom State quoted the governor as saying: “Political fathers can disappoint, but spiritual fathers cannot because the presence of God goes with them at all times”.

Things have not been longer rosy between Governor Emmanuel and his predecessor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, following the latter’s defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Shortly after his defection, Akpabio was reported to have said he regretted imposing Emmanuel on the people of the state.

Responding to the former Senate Minority Leader’s declaration, Emmanuel on Monday dared the former governor to a debate ahead of the 2019 elections.

Speaking at Ikot Ekpene, the Governor at a rally in his honour at Onna Sports Stadium, said he was ready to present the facts of his administration to the world and that anyone who can confront him should come forward.
