Corruption: President Buhari signs executive order on suspicious assets


President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday signed an Executive Order on the preservation of suspicious assets connected with corruption.


The Presidency disclosed this in a message posted on one of its verified Twitter handles, @ AsoRock.

Buhari signed the document at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“President @ MBuhari has just signed a Presidential Executive Order on the Preservation of Suspicious Assets Connected with Corruption at the Council Chambers , State House, Abuja, ” the message read.

  1. Pls let all nigerians irrespective of position, societal status, religion, etc., understand dat nigeria is operating a CONSTITUTIONAL DEMOCRACY - NOT A MILITARACY. We must therefore not only obey d Rule of Law but also be seen to obey d Rule of Law.
    Dat piece of document signed by President Buhari is not only dictatorial but negets d rule of law.
    It is most unconstitutional. D president cannot under any guise, assume d role of making and enacting laws., d Constitution of d Federal Republic of Nigeria as ammended did not appropriate any such powers to it. Dat Order is therefore NULL & VOID and of NO EFFECT NOR USE.
    The Executive Arm of d Federal Govt must know and understant dat Nigerians would not tolorate any form of dictatorship & should therefore desist from stealtily smuggling elements of such tendencies from d backdoor.
