Governor Abdullahi Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State, Monday sworn in Arch. Aufu Suke Katagum as the new Deputy Governor of the State, just as Abubakar said that the appointment was timely and in line with the All Progressives Congress change mantra.
The Governor added that Katagum’s choice followed exhaustive consultation with stakeholders.
“The position of a deputy governor is indispensable in government structure in respect to complimenting the effort of the governor towards implementation of policies and programmes of every administration,” said Abubakar
He charged Katagum on accountability, saying ‘justice’ should be his watchword as people would monitor his conduct.
He said, “Don’t attempt to derail as government will not hesitate to deal decisively with you as your actions would be checked,” Abubakar said.
Abubakar reiterated government’s commitment towards involving all the instruments of the administration for effective results.
He admonished the newly appointed Deputy Governor to abide by the laws to ensure the development of the state.
In his remarks, Katagum expressed gratitude over his appointment and dedicated same to Governor Abubakar.
