National Chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has dismissed reports that the
party has changed its ‘Change’ slogan.
He said this on Tuesday after he
formally took over the mantle of leadership from Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Speaking at a ceremony at the
national headquarters of the APC in Abuja on Tuesday, Oshiomhole hailed Oyegun
and members of the former National Working Committee (NWC).
Oshiomhole refuted speculations
that the ruling party had adopted the slogan,”Progress” in place of the
“Change”.
The former Edo Governor said: “We
have not changed APC slogan. I am not aware of any meeting of the organ of the
party that decided on the change of our slogan. Progress is the outcome of
change”.
The Social Democratic Party, SDP,
had accused the ruling APC of “stealing” its slogan ‘Progress’.
Even change of slogan will not deliver APC.
