The party said the 77-man campaign committee set up by the APC on the state’s governorship election “will make the PDP victory in the July 14 election sweeter and memorable.” It stated that the appointment of the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, as the chairman of the committee was a demonstration of the APC love for corruption.
“Was such committee set up on the nation’s economic problems, killings by herdsmen and hunger that is ravaging the country to the extent that Nigerians are committing suicide?,” the state Chairman of the PDP, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase, said in a press release issued in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
Oguntuase said that it was funny that a party that claimed to be fighting corruption could appoint someone who was declared wanted in the United Kingdom for fraud to lead its campaign in Ekiti.
“It is on record that Governor Atiku Bagudu allegedly opened several bank accounts with Deutsche Morgan Greenfell Bank where funds stolen from Nigeria were lodged, but falsely claimed that the huge funds were proceeds from his legitimate private businesses in oil and trading.
“The British Embassy in Washington wrote to the United States Department of State to make a formal request with reference number 34/03 dated April 11, 2003 for the extradition of Bagudu to its territory to face trial and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on May 7, 2003 issued a warrant for his arrest.
“On May 22, 2003, he was finally nabbed on the streets of Houston, Texas by two officers and was consequently detained for about 60 days while a court proceeding was on to facilitate his extradition.
“On November 19, 2003, his wife, Aisha A. Bagudu signed his bail bond of $500,000 cash, prompting his return to Nigeria. On his return to Nigeria, Bagudu actually refunded to the Central Bank of Nigeria through the office of the National Security Adviser the sum of $604,743,187.19, £60,090,984.93 and an additional £5.25m.
Nigerians should no longer take PDP serious any longer over their regular noise about APC most especially the Ekiti state wing of APC.Now,let me ask where did PDP got money they used in financing Fayose's election? One might say from Dasuki gate.So,now that the time of revenge has come let all of you go and keep quiet.Anywhere the money is coming is none of all of you's business.We thank God that people like Obanikoro is still alive today.The election of which all you know that it was full of hanky-panky.The APC is ready to to take charge of things either rough or smooth,is not anybody's business.When you brought in soldiers to deal with all opposition and also prevented them from voting then who make noise?This time around,we are ready to also use FEDERAL might against you.
ReplyDeleteAll you have said is much correct.They didn't allowed us to vote that time.But i want to go further by telling the police IG to quickly remove the Ekiti state commissioner of police with immediate effect he has parley with Fyose and the state INEC commissioner also.If not,they will still mess up the coming Election in Ekiti state.By now they are already filled ballot boxes meant for submission on election day.The federal government must not relent on his part to aid the APC to play back the return match.Let all the party leaders and national working committee put there quota response to provide all the necessary machinery needed for the election.We Ekiti people has tired of ruling under wrong federal.We are ready to be under the umbrella of APC at federal this time around.APC change.Clemo.
