The Senator representing Bayelsa
East in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce, has revealed how he was
resisted when he advocated for lower wages.
In a series of Tweets on Monday,
Murray-Bruce said he told other senators that if Nigerian legislators earnedd
higher than European legislators then Nigerian workers should be paid higher
than European workers.
The federal lawmaker said: “From
the first day I got to the Senate, I advocated for lower wages and allowances
for public officials and a higher minimum wage for the Nigerian worker. I was
resisted and made the personal decision to share my allowances with widows in
my constituency.
“If we must pay our legislators
higher than they pay European legislators then we must pay our workers higher
than they pay European workers.”
Recall that Senator
Shehu Sani stirred controversy last week when he disclosed the amount of money
Senators earn as monthly allowances.

d. We prepare and counsel HIV couples on how to live normal life and procreate children that don’t have HIV Positive status through the help of Medical workers from various government approved Hospitals.
