Abuja-Kaduna railway: El-Rufai fires back at Ben Bruce | Nigeria News Today. Your online Nigerian Newspaper f

The Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has replied the Senator representing Bayelsa east, Senator Ben Murray Bruce over his recent comment on who should be given credit for the Abuja-Kaduna railway.

President Muhammadu Buhari recently commissioned ten new coaches and two locomotives in Rigasa, Kaduna State.

Bruce had told el-Rufai, that his (El-Rufai’s) hatred for late former President, Musa Ya’Adua has clouded his judgment on who initiated the Abuja-Kaduna railway.

The lawmaker said this in response to the governor’s reaction to his first tweet that the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan should be honoured for the success of the railway.

He wrote, “Your dislike of the late Yar’adua may have clouded your judgment. I made no mention of the ‘Abuja light railway’.

“My tweet referred to the Abuja-Kaduna railway which IS a product of the Jonathan administration. I am happy to publicly debate this with you.”

El-Rufai while reacting to Bruce’s tweet said, “Facts cannot be debated. Opinions are free. While the Obasanjo administration was conceiving the rail modernization programme, Sen Ben-Bruce was organizing beauty contests and Jonathan was a deputy governor. I am not cluelessly common-sensical!”

  1. Thank you Gov El-Rufai. Maybe Sen Ben Bruce was sleeping at that time. He forgot that Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo pushed the contract with CCCME, and was councelled by Yar-Adua including the sales of some Refineries
