Nigeria risks losing American aid
for voting against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem
as the capital of Israel.
On Thursday, Nigeria voted along
with 127 other countries that voted against Trump’s position at the UN general
assembly.
The New York Times reported Trump
as saying before the vote : “All of these nations that take our money and then
they vote against us at the Security Council or they vote against us,
potentially, at the Assembly, they take hundreds of millions of dollars and
even billions of dollars and then they vote against us.”
“Well, we’re watching those
votes,” he added.
“Let them vote against us; we’ll
save a lot. We don’t care.”
It is still not clear yet how
Trump is going to carry out his threat, given that some of the aids are
mandates from the congress.
Nigeria currently enjoys American
aid in military and economic sectors.
I agree with Trump on this one. You cannot be eating from my table and be working against me. Nigerian government would have been smart enough to abstain if it has no clue on what is right to do in this circumstance. May God help to deliver Nigeria from cluelessness, which has been one of the bane of the challenges of our nationhood. It's become so clear to me that it was a mistake to have supported this government into power.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you'll claim you are well educated and responsible.If you are married and your wife disagrees with you,going by your reasoning, you'll stop your responsibility by kicking your wife to the kurb.UN is not Donald Trump or US,all countries signed up to the Charter establishing it and must abide by it always.UN passed multiple Resolutions on the status of Jerusalem,no one country should be allowed to change that unilaterally.You will definitely look the other way and allow evil and theft be perpetrated because you received bribe from the perpetrators, that's what you believe in and stand for, not principle of Justice and equality, shame on people like you who are ready to lose their souls for personal gains
DeleteJewish nation has existed for over 3000 years. Jerusalem has always been their capital. Christianity has existed for over 2000 years. Christianity did not make attempt to destabilize or change Jewish political system. Islam came 580years later (after Christianity) and begun to contend for the ownership of Jerusalem. The Palestinians that claim to be owners of Jerusalem now with the support of Arab Islamic world are doing that because Islam as a religion claimed to have a holy site in Jerusalem. Meanwhile Jerusalem was established in time of King David (of Israel or Jews) about 1,500 years before Prophet came. Can you imaging that! compare to the history that predated Islam. You see how the world have thrown away historical facts and truth in blind support for Palestinians thinking that the Palestinians are being oppressed by Israel (Jews).
DeleteFrom your write up I can tell you really don't know how many religions are practised on Earth.You'll be forgiven for your lack of exposure and refusal to get good education and seek knowledge about the rest of the world apart from Nigeria where I believe you are from.Once you seek knowledge and your are enlightened,then try and tell me what you've learnt relating to religions.Whatever makes you believe Christianity must be imposed on Muslims,Hindus and atheist because you believe in it.I am a Christian, knowledgeable enough to understand there are others practising different religions,if you don't understand this simple fact, I'll advice you try living in developed world to gain understanding

Even news report will tell you the three groups that lay claim to one thing or the other in Jerusalem. They are the Jews,Christians and Muslims. Other world religions do not have any stake there. So I did not mention other religions in the world. I limited my narratives to the three acclaimed stake holders of Jerusalem and I presented the historical facts and truth about Jerusalem. But by your irredeemable foolishness you couldn't understand simple write backed with dates rather you saw it as imposing Christianity over others. I guess you failed English in school. Even ungodly person or atheist that has respect for history, facts and truth will ask the Muslims how possible is it for them to claim ownership of a place that existed 1500 years before the birth of there prophet Muhammad.
