Wike reveals those who ganged up to make Jonathan lose to Buhari

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that most cabinet members in the government of former President, Goodluck Jonathan took advantage of him.

Wike also alleged that members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the north ganged up against Jonathan, in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.

Jonathan lost the election to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“PDP in the north ganged up against Jonathan. Let the truth be told! Nobody will die! They were not sincere to him,” Wike said in the current edition of The Interview.

“Let me tell you the truth; so many people were not sincere with Jonathan. You saw that even in the way some were being unduly sycophantic on issues that were totally out of point…I saw there was a lot of deceit.

“Some of them would say, ‘Your Excellency, Sir, as I’m speaking with you now, so and so state is down for PDP’. It was all lies,” he said.

  1. Hmm. Wike, the truth of the matter is that GEJ lost the election mainly because: 1. Nigerians (masses) did not feel impact of the huge revenue generated from the oil. Instead they saw high level corruption in the system. GEJ was not smart enough to control the corruption. People saw top govt executives living large beyond their salary. So he lost the goodwill from the masses. 2. GEJ political calculation was faulty. He was not smart enough to draw Tinubu to his side when lost out with OBJ. He had no major political bridge with the south west. 3. He thought the north would support him particularly because of his projects in education which he concentrated in the north. He did not know that what north wanted was political power not education. 4. PDP controlled north central(middle belt) governors performance was very bad to the point that their people wanted them and any thing calledPDP out by all means. 5. His (GEJ) lack of political will to complete rehabilitation of major roads in the southeast made them to be lukewarm about his reelection. So major general Buhari was the desired bride. I supported GEJ during the election and I still prefer him to PMB because I know the latter has the tendency to be biased based on ethnicity and religion;a bad character that can kill Nigeria more than corruption. But we have to tell the truth why GEJ lost in the election and stop something else.
