The presidency on Friday
maintained that the wellbeing of the North East has always been the priority of
President Muhammadu Buhari even before he became Nigeria’s president.
The clarification was given by
the presidency, in reaction to statements credited to the World Bank President,
Jim Yong Kim, saying Buhari had asked the organisation to focus its
development push in the North.
In a series of tweets on its
official twitter handle, the Presidency said right from inception of his
current administration, Buhari had been consistent in his demand that the
North-East, ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency, be rebuilt and reconstructed.
The tweets read:“Northeast
Nigeria has always been a priority for President @MBuhari, right from when he
campaigned to be President.
“From the start of the
administration, President Buhari has consistently highlighted the need for
Int’l support to secure & rebuild the N/East.
“The north-east has featured
prominently in all of the President’s engagements with the International
Community.
“Securing the north-east &
Rebuilding it, and seeking International support & assistance for this,
will continue to be a priority for us.
“We remain grateful for the show
of support from the international community, regarding the security &
humanitarian situation in the N/East.”
If He likes let him give all the appointments to the North, divide the National Budget into ten places and take nine part to the north, all i know is that those of us in the south will still do better in terms of reasoning, mental and intellectual capabilities, economic development, infrastructures and all. We are a different specie, these stories propel us to build more in our towns and cities which the federal government has failed to do. I wish our state governments can take over the roads construction especially the federal roads. Nothing is hindering us at the south, expect bad roads. we can develop ourselves, we have the will and capacity
ReplyDeleteWe are not fools. There is a difference between North and north East. That man said the north nd not north East. So why are you twisting it. You are trying to defend what is not defendable. Tribalistic nepotism.
